District of Columbia Traffic Ticket Amnesty Ends January 27, 2012 | Northern Virginia Traffic Attorney

Posted on Jan 26, 2012

Attention Virginia drivers with old unpaid traffic tickets from D.C., you have one more day to take care of this ticket without penalty! The District of Columbia is giving anyone with a parking ticket, moving violation ticket, or photo enforcement ticket issued before January 1, 2010 a break and will allow these traffic ticket holders to pay up without late fees. This ticket amnesty program started August 1, 2011 and will end close of business at 4:00 p.m. on January 27, 2012. If you have an old ticket that involved a moving violation, you will not be assessed points under the amnesty program unless you have already been found liable of the violation and points were assessed. Even if your ticket has been referred to collections at Professional Account Management, you will be able to clear an eligible traffic ticket without penalty.

There is no need to worry about standing in line to take care of your old ticket. You can pay your tickets online on the Online Ticket Payment page on the DC DMV site. You do have the option to go in person at 301 C Street NW, Room 1157 between 8:15 a.m and 4 p.m. but you can expect very long wait times due to the crunch of this deadline.

For full details on the DC ticket amnesty program, please go to Ticket Amnesty Program Quick Facts.
If you have been charged with speeding, reckless driving, drunk driving DUI / DWI, driving on a suspended license or other serious driving offense in Northern Virginia contact the Parrish Law Firm for a free evaluation of your traffic case.
